best cleaner to get adhesive gunk off

see attached pic. it looks like it's maybe the old residue from having some duct tape on the plastic (don't ask me why, in that location).

what is the best thing to get this off?

ken's suggestion of lighter fluid on flipper bats had me scratching my head the other night, but when i looked it up, seems like it's often used for getting that kind of gunk off (like from old stickers, etc.). maybe that? goof off? something else?

I'd use goo-gone or one of the other citrus-based adhesive removers. It also leaves a nice fresh orange smell!
 
it's plastic, so no razor blade scraping :). and i'll have to be careful with whatever i use - it has to be safe for plastics.
 
Definitely Goo-gone, or some other citris-based cleaner as mentioned. Use a razor blade or some of the other mentioned fluids, and you risk damaging the plastic...
 
thanks much all. used concentrated Orange Clean. took 6 applications, but worked like a charm :).
