BLB, blacklight blue ... that's what you want.

it means NOT those semi-blacklight fixtures that let white light bleed through.
this product uses Wood's Glass, it's what you want.

beware that being in UV light for prolonged periods is bad.

THANKS!

RE: UV. understood...But isnt it the same UV light as what the tube lights give out?

blacklights trick your eyes into dilating, as if it were dark, when in fact they are bombarding you with UV light. standard tubes have a uv coating to limit emission.

Interesting, thanks.

Any idea where I can get the most 'poweful' CFL blacklights? Thanks

You are grossly misinformed, UV from black lights is absolutely harmless because it is literally an infinitesimal amount of exposure in comparison to simply going outside in the daytime.

Thanks for sharing that link. I've been trying to come up with a way to make my "adult man cave" more arcadish but never had any ideas that didn't involve black paint or visbile changes to the boring white paint.

Invisible black light paint!!! I am soooo all over that and buying a couple of the black lights - this truly is the perfect solution for someone that wants to keep their house "adult looking" but add the black lights and BAM instant flashback to the 80's.

agreed.

Its expensive though for sure...Was also thinking about the blacklight reactive 'rope'...I bet you could string that all over the place without even seeing it until the blacklights are on...

Black lights produce UVA in such small amounts that there is no need to worry.
UVB is the UV that causes skin cancer.
UVA is the safest UV.
I have an iguana that needs both UVA and UVB to be healthy,so I must turn off the UVB lamp when I go into the enclosure to clean it.
