Best appliance dolly for arcade games?

the lectrotruck style ones seem cool, guy who moves drink machines for me
said they are just as dangerous as a regular dolly tho. he worked for pepsi
and had one where the battery ran dead halfway up a big stairwell, he had
to balance the vending machine for an hour (as workers pushed past him on the stairs) while his partner went out and bought a new battery.

I have one of these too. It sits in the corner of the warehouse and is never used. The biggest drawback is it weighs a TON but it also will go dead on you when you least expect it. The electronics are prone to fail also in my experiences. Its a great truck if you are moving a giant Coke/Pepsi machine up a full flight of stairs but is overkill for most arcade machines. You also do not want to have it in the back of your truck when it rains.

Small "hand trucks" are meant to make it easier for an individual to move stuff around by themselves but are not intended for use on stairs. An appliance dolly is meant to move larger awkward items and will include straps to secure your load. Most importantly the appliance dolly IS intended for use with stairs.

My two cents…

I purchased a Yeats model #16 aluminum appliance dolly along with their "big wheel attachment" twenty years ago. This was a big cash outlay for me at the time and in fact I actually chose to purchase this instead of another Pinball machine. The small onboard wheels make it easy to move heavy loads on firm surfaces while the pneumatic big wheel attachment is necessary when moving a game through someone's yard (I.E. walkout basement). This taller dolly comes in handy when moving larger arcade games by preventing the top of a game from resting on your forearms. The upper and lower straps can easily be moved do different positions up or down to accommodate all sorts of strapping configurations on this model too. I really can't say enough good things about this dolly which I still own and use to this day!

Recently I did obtain an Escalera stair climber while searching Craigslist on a whim; it was a lucky find and definitely a luxury for a hobbyist!
