Started with a solid cabinet with decent artwork. It did however have several gouges within the sideart and the bottom of the plywood was flaking, delaminating and pretty broken up in spots:

I first stripped down the cab and glued and clamped all the delaminating plywood. I then bondoed all voids, 3 coats total. Sanded finish coats smooth and the gave the whole cab a roughing up with #0 steel wool. I then rolled on 3 coats of oil-based semi-gloss black, with sand texture mixed in the first coat:

Applied stencils, sprayed a light coat of primer, then hit it with 3 coats of Rustoleum Safety Blue. Let dry a few hours and then removed blue stencil for reveal:

Next applied red stencil, hit it with 1 light coat of primer and 3 coats of Rustoleum Sunrise red. I did not let the 3rd coat fully dry before pulling the red stencils for reveal. Too excited. Here's where she stands:

Not too shabby. Still have to stencil red on the other side, reassemble all the pieces, reinstall the newly rebuilt and burn-free g07, and wait for Chris's repro CP.

I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO THANK PROK FOR MAKING THESE WONDERFUL STENCILS AVAILABLE! One query. Why did they forget the lil robot's right horn? The negative space for it is there, did they forget to cut it into the stencil at the factory? Weird.

Comparison on original colors vs. my matches:

Pretty spot on, though obviously more even and vibrant.

Excellent work as usual! Very nice!

Hey thank you. You know what's weird? I never even noticed the simulated chain mail 'dots' on either robot until I stenciled it myself. Once I put on the red stencil I'm like, "Cool simulated chain mail dots! Mine must have been missing those." I believed that until I actually dug out my 'before' pics. They must have been in my blind spot the first go 'round.

Damn those colors came out great.. When are you going to do mine??

Now if a Certain someone will get those control panels done :) lol

Nice work man! Though somehow I can't picture you hangin out in the arcade playin a game of Primal Rage lmao

The only thing I couldn't replicate was the haze/glow/diffraction illusion that the under spray gave the blue face plates in the original stencils. The edges are a bit crisper, as the red overlapped the blue. Oh well, still looks hot.

Panel pre-order is eminent, just waiting to clear up a few minor details.

Sweet. I should be ready for them when they are done. I need to stencil red on the other side this weekend and let it cure. Then steel wool the whole thing and seal it all with satin poly.

Oh, and I am still wondering, Why did they forget the front lil robot's right blue horn?

I think you should add it back in. Not original, but would look better.

By the way, nice work on the stencils.

Thanks. Naw, I'll leave it original, but it does make one wonder. That little spot of blue in the middle really would have balanced the whole stencil.

Where did you get your paint was it allready mixed like that or did you have to have it mixed....Dave....If you had to have it mixed I didnt know Rustoleum brand was offered as a paint to mix.

Looks outstanding, Phet. Really nice.

If it were me, I admit I'd be sorely tempted to add the missing blue horn on both sides.

It's not original, true, but it would really balance the art out. I wonder if that was an error that made it into the original factory stencils and no-one gave a crap to fix it in production.
