Hello all,

The joystick in my Berzerk is, well, I don't know what it is, but it is the pits for playing the game. It's not the original stick, but it works, kind of, I guess...

Anyway, other than finding an original stick and taking a loan out for it, has anyone ever tried one of these:

I've heard good things about them but would like some first hand info.

Thanks!
Tom

Whoa, you musta missed the thread where these were discussed in pretty good detail. I believe it was retroactive's Berzerk restoration thread.

Oh shit Tom, I forgot to mention, I have one installed in my Berzerk and it works great. You'll need to route out the wood below the metal CP to get it to sit at the right height, but it works as is as well. Your dust washer and pivot point will just be an inch below the CP.

thanks for the link.

Yep, that thread answered all of my questions about the joystick.

I took a look at the current leaf switch joystick in my game and noticed a wire connected to nothing at the stick harness. I'm assuming that's my +5vt for the joystick. I'll have to pull out the 'ol DVM and check it for voltage.

Thx again.

Red w/yellow stripe should be +5V

You will love this stick for Berzerk, especially if you have a poopy one now! ;)

If you need to sell that Kozmik Krooz'r to help fund the hefty price of that joystick, let me know.
