My newly acquired Berzerk has a joystick that I have never seen before. Anyone familiar with this type that is in the picture?

Also I noticed that there is a number that is embedded in the wood on the CP and side. Was that normal at one time?

Pmichelesen has been nice enough to store this for me for the past week and bringing it home today. He mentioned its very clean inside. Im hoping that it doesn't need much work.

I have never seen a joystick like that before. Bizarre.

The stamped number thing is normal for Stern. Have them on my Berzerk and Scramble.

The only thing I am certain of is that is not the original joystick :)

Kind of looks like my Tandy Color Computer joystick from way back when, only in silver rather than black.

Take a pic of the underside once you get it. It could be a bat joystick with the "bat" portion broken away. That might just be the metal insert portion...but that's a huge guess without seeing more detail.

Finally I have Berzerk at home. Again a huge F'n thanks to pmichelsen for storing it for a week, drilling its locks, and taking off the battery. There was no damage to the boards and they are all very clean.
Stoaked to have a fully working Berzerk.

About the funky joystick. I have taken pics of the underside. I know I should get a replacement from Happs.

kind of looks like the sideways mounted joystick in the world series baseball game.

Wow and I thought the Bat joystick for the game was an odd construction, that thing is wild. Never seen one like it before.

I went ahead and put a happ comp 8way in mine. I wanted the taller stick. Had to put plastic washers under the grommet to raise it up so there wasn't a huge hole. works out ok, not a big fan of micro switches, but it beats that busted ass pacman joy that was in there.

Still looking for an original though..
