Where is the release mechanism for the PCB drawer slide? I have it all the way out the front, but there is a catch and I can't seem to find the release to remove the entire drawer. I need to get it out for my quick restore this week. Thanks.

Yeah, I still wonder about that too. I think you need to unscrew the small plate at the back, but when we tried that it still wouldn't slide out completely....

Do you have to lift it out of the floor channel first I wonder?

I couldn't find any way to release one track from the other either...like a drawer glide should release. I just unscrewed it from inside the cab and removed it. There should be a way but I didn't mess around with it any more. Suppose that didn't help much.

Well, I pulled this out of the cab, Chris and I cleaned and inspected it, and there is no way to get it out without removing it. They assembled the slide, then bent up the metal at the ends of the main track so that it would never come apart. Man, WD40 really gets the bearings clean on these things.

Good to know, thanks.

Does anybody have some tips on dismantling/cleaning the original joystick. Mine is working but the diagonals are really hard to "reach" if at all possible.

I bet some cleaning will fix that.

Using Jedi Mind trick "You don't need that Joystick, You should give it to me" "Get a new 8 way stick, you will be much happier"

I've got an optic board recently, just don't have the rest of the stick, so I'm not 100% sure. Does it use shiny metal reflectors to bounce the beam back? If they work, and are intermident, they are prolly just dirty. If I ever find a stick, I'm going to look at upgrading the photosensors.

I'm sorry, but as you know it's no use trying Jedi mind tricks on anyone who owns an X-wing :D

B.t.w., how do I remove the bezel ? I tried removing the CP and then pulling the underside of the glass, but it seems stuck, and if there's one thing I do not want to do is break this new looking piece of art.....
