Restoring a Berzerk from a Golden Axe conversion. Someone had cut out the wood underneath the metal CP leaving only the edge for the latch brackets. I cut new wood today for it and drilled the 4 button holes. Last thing is to drill the hole for the large bat joystick. How large a diameter hole is that? I was considering a 1-3/4". Or is it more like 2-1/2"? Or did they originally just cut a box slot? Anyone know? I am pretty sure the metal flange at the base of the stick goes under the metal cp. Which would mean, I think, that the hole would have to at least be the size of the flange.

The only thing after that is positioning the latch brackets. Anyone know how hard it is to get the latches and latch brackets exact? I've had it happen before where the latch was too tight on the pull and it pulled the latch clean off the inside of the cab leading to a bondo repair.

I'm coming up with a 1.625 diameter, by looking over the old stick - which would make the holesize about 3.25 inches. That's one heck of a hole. Can anyone with a berzerk (bat joystick) double check this for me?
