I'm on my Berzerk restoration kick and I've noticed there are few if any extra glass bezels out there. Most of them (the good ones anyway) are already spoken for and all of the "left overs" are in poor condition. I assume its because like everything else about the Berzerk cab they were probably poor quality to begin with.

I am wondering if any of our local Repro Hero's would take on such a project if there were enough fellow Berzerk owners who would be interested... I know I would.

Opinions?

Are they usually flaky or faded? I could see this being a worthwhile project, but someone would need to scan and vectorize it and it's not the simplest of art, but then again not like a pin backglass. Mine is in good shape, AFAIK, but I'd like to see it done. Wish I had access to a large format scanner.

I have two bezels... one is flaking really bad and the other has fractures all through it. Granted they probably weren't taken care of but its such a cool piece that I would really like get a new one.... I tried to find one but there are none to be found (unless there is some secret stash out there).

Something to start with...

I thought Darrin had once looked into this a few years back.
getting the art ready for screenprinting wouldnt be easy
but certainly a piece that should be done.

Mine is in pretty good shape, but if this project were done by Darrin or Rich, I would get one.

Sadly, this bezel, a working ZPU, a marquee and a repro control panel are the only parts of a Berzerk I have.

I started on this one, just wasn't going to say anything until it was much farther along. Since I passed the reproduction joystick project to someone more than competent to produce a quality product, I needed something else to do. I have no time frame or cost at this point, that is all.

How about this one, courtesy of the Mame Artwork Project.

In the short term you could print it on to card stock, cut it out and place it behind a new piece of glass.

Printing on to glass would be prohibitively expensive

The file is to large to post, so you'll need to go here.

Certainly the paper printed bezel would be fine as an economical temporary solution. For me personally I wouldn't mind shelling out the dough for a quality reproduction glass printed bezel. If Chris is still interested and persues it I have zero hesitation buying into it. His control panel repro is top shelf!

Just got my berzerk. It has a little flaking. I would be in for this and the bat stick and control panel.
