Looks like at some point, someone kicked the front of the machine and the coin door is bent. Is there a good way to Straighten it or am I stuck buying a replacement?

By the time you take everything off to straighten it, you could just as well put a different one on. It all depends on what time you want to spend and how much money you want to spend on a different one. Would you be happy with the results if you straightened it?

I don't mind taking the time to take everything apart if I thought there was a way to make it look good. I'm just hoping there's some sort of trick to it someone has had some success with so I can avoid spending the $70+ it'll cost to replace it with a new one. If it's simply brute force to bend it back, I'll probably be stuck replacing it because I'll probably end up making it worse.

$70??? You can generally find used coin doors for $20or less.

Be way easier. But kudos to you if you go the long stretch and fix that one!

BTW: Maybe I'm crazy, but I appreciate patina like that. If people have scratched things into the sideart that aren't racist or hateful, I leave it.

Shows that it's 100% legit. That's unfortunately what happened to games back then.

I have done this repair many times.strip the door bare, straddle the ends on a piece of wood, and get another piece of wood to punch the center out. takes a little finesse to do. start on the outsides.work your way to the center like body work, which im custom too.you can walk that dent right out.just be patient. never had a problem working that out. good luck.

I can definitely appreciate that, the main problem is that it's so bent, it has a hard time closing.

I'll have to give that a shot, thanks a lot for the info!

Exactly my thoughts pin this

I finally got around to fixing the coin door and it came out not too bad. It's far from perfect but at least it closes now. Thanks a lot for the help blown23t!

It's hard to tell from the picture but it is a lot better.

Also, theres evidence of the original paint colors from when it was a Zookeeper long ago. Now, when I convert it back (when I'm not a total newb) I have something to go by to match the paint.
