Benefit for Crohns and Colitis at Pacific Pinball Museum, nov 14

Hello All, my friend Molly is putting on an event for a good cause. There will be food, pinball art, pinball games from the 30s to the newest game, Avatar, libations and a mini-pinball tournament with Plaques and money prizes awarded.

When: Nov 14, 2pm - 9pm

Where: Pacific Pinball Museum, 1510 Webster Street Alameda

How Much: $20 at the door.

Make it a double-tournament day by coming out for the pin golf tournament at Playland not at the Beach and then head to PPM right afterward:

good cause...I have colitis...tell your friend thanks for doing this....

She has it, too.

I am making the plaques for the pinball tournament. I was thinking of being a little edgy, but I'm a little worried people won't uh... appreciate it. What do you think?

I was thinking "king of the throne" only the throne is of the porcelain variety.

i for one have UC,i have been recieving infusions of medicine every 8 weeks to treat it,i would find it hilarious, not insulting at all.living on the east coast is there a way for me to make a 20.00 donation.

Yeah, Molly has UC as well. Her medical bills are nuts. She was on this ultra-restrictive diet, which seemed to work at first but now it's not working anymore. :-(

I will pm you her email. Thanks!

I think most of us who have UC take the bathroom humor pretty good...It's the second place in the house I spend the most in...lol...I really need a tv in there.........

I would like to make a $20 donation as well so that someone who might not ever go to the Pinball museum would be able to get in...
I cant make it as I live in Michigan but really think whats goin on out there is pretty awesome
I also have friends with UC and Chrohns so I know how quick those medical bills can add up.
Please pm me with any details on how to get the donation to you
Thanks

Wow, that is very cool of you. If you want to donate to the museum they have a donate link on their home page.

I am going to suggest to Michael S. that he send out club cards for donations at the $20 level. These allow you and a guest to go to the museum for $10 per person instead of $15. So you save $10 for a couple every time you go. It lasts for a year. Then, if you have a west coast friend you could send it to them, or have Michael send it to them directly, like a holiday gift.

What do you guys think? Or, at higher donation levels, something like passes to PPE, T Shirts, posters, original art, etc.

Thanks for all the great feedback everyone.

I'm going to make it "King of the Throne" (top overall), "Queen of the Throne" (top women's) and what will be second overall? Hmm... any ideas? There might be kids there but I'm not sure.

I'll post the graphic once I'm done with it. I hope everyone has as good a sense of humor as all of you!

T-Shirts always do pretty well, I would be onboard for one for sure

Thats a good cause. I wish someone would do something like that in the Chicagoland area. My wife has lived with severe Chrohns for the last couple of years and had to have her colon removed and one of my brother in laws has the same thing and had part of his intestine removed. Terrible disease, not widely heard of, either.

It went really well. Around 20 people signed up. It was a player's-choice format but only EMs, short-flippers and woodrails could be played (to keep play time reasonable).

Players were in groups of 4 and each player picks a game of 60 or so available. First place scored 4 points, 2nd scores 2 points, then 1, then 0. After the four games, the 8 players across all groups with the most points advanced to finals.

I scored 9 points in qualifier and advanced. I'm actually kind of proud of this because I was playing in the same group as Andrei Massenkoff, one of the top players in the world. I got second in the semi-final and advanced again to the final, where I finished 4th. That was actually a good thing because it would have been kind of weird to go home with a plaque I made myself, you know?

Andrei Massenkoff - 1st (King of the Throne)
Molly Reisman - 2nd (Queen of the Throne)
Jim Viera - 3rd (Knight of the Throne)

I barely beat Jim in EBPL league finals six weeks ago. He's a really easy-going player you tend to underestimate but this is the 2nd time he's manged to "just appear" in the finals.
