Benched Atari PP Brick With No +10.3vdc? What have I missed?

I jumped the 6 pin... what you call j2 and the manual calls j3 just like you said.

I have nothing...

pull J1, and verify that you have power there coming out of the wall. providing that you have power coming out of the wall, plug J1 back in and check the power coming out of the line filter.

Ok dmm set to VAC 200

Red lead to pin 5 blue wire on j2

Black lead to the bottom of the up right fuse holder F1 Which hold the purpleish / brown wire.

That way have have a lead attached to the two wires out of the filter...

Nothing man...

Am I testing this right?

Oh the cord out of the wall has been tested. Also my coffee pot is now in use in that plug on my wall...

All that time all I needed to do to test this thing with your harness on the bench was two jumper wires...

Very interesting... Thanks you for walking me through this. Trust me when I say I searched and searched for this here and on the net. I could not find the correct info.

So I am set as far as the brick. Very cool man!

Thanks big time Dave... Ar2's are up next left me try my search fu on them now.

This was a little bit different than that. Smoke came from the pcb cage and both ar2's...

I'd start by checking the 10 ohm resistors in the sense circuit on the A/R II boards.....and on the motherboard.....the zener diode in the power input section. All classic failures of a shot edge connector.

Hey Edward, Morning...

The edge connectors on these pole positions does bob sell these? Whats all involved with getting them back to normal? What kind of tools do I need to repair them.

Let me try a search here as well...

Thanks for your time.

Yup, Bob sells them.....Molex "split-pin" .156 edge connector....22/44 size. You'll need some decent crimpers.

I just realized, we're talking about a Pole Position. Pole Position's have two edge connectors. I believe the smaller one is a 15/30 size (you'll have to count the pins to be sure).
