Well it's that time again. Who's going, Who's not?
I'll be there with my buddy again as usual. Not buying anything because gameroom is full.
Hopefully Mongo will get a preview in for us.

I'm going. Hopefully its better than last time from a buyer's perspective. For seller's last time was easily the best I've ever seen.

I'll probably be there again. hopefully there will be more games than the last auction.

Mongo (or anyone else in the area for that matter), if possible another "preview" would be nice :)

I'm gonna miss it. I'm in Florida right now. I'm sure i won't miss much.

I would be surprised if they could top that last auction. In all the years of going, that was the worst auction I've been to.

I agree it was pretty weak. Prices didn't seem so outrageous like last time. Seemed like it was almost all MVS games there. Pins were pretty much non-existent as well. I stayed through the first row of games. I'd be interested in knowing how much all those loose MVS carts went for at the end.

I believe it was 60 for the 16 metal slugs and I think it was 160-175 for assorted mvs cart lot. I know there was a few people jotting down results thought they was from here that could tell ya more accurate results. I walk away with a neo geo should have waited for the others but thought it was 150 and it was 175 (215 out the door) either way I am going to strip it and repaint the cab anyways. I have a defender cab that I had about a month and have her stripped, putty and ready for paint soon.
This was my first auction and altogether I didn't think it was that bad but I was surprise how much some of them non working cabs went for, at least the one I bought works.

Anyone get prices? I got there late, missed all the uprights being auctioned off.( did they do those first this time?) Looked like most of it was pretty average prices...
There was a stack of Metal Slug carts maybe 12-13 of them? I think they went for 60 bucks? I was checking out at the time and wasn't really paying attention...There was a three board bundle, wrestlefest/bump and jump and Centipede that went for $25 around the same time.
Side note: these things just aren't the same without J.R.

Also at RGP, someone posted the pin prices:
Jackbot 1250 (pretty nice)
Viper Night Driving 900
Rescue 911 725
Slugfest 450
Bally Eight Ball 600 (had display issues, oddly, the PF was good
around the ball rack, planking at the top)
Silverball Mania 500 (decent PF given the usual "down to the wood" of
this title)
Stern Trident 250 (poor BG)
Bowling Queen 125 (poor BG and PF)
Captain Fantastic (home model) 200 (nice PF)
Mata Hari 325 (rough BG, played well)
Kings of Steel 475 (pretty nice)
Dew Wa Ditty 150

I got the prices but forgot to bring the sheets home with me. Unless one of the other regulars put them up, I will do it tomorrow. All in all it was an average auction. The selections were different from past auctions. There just wasn't many games there at all.

I noticed a couple of Op's were MIA this time. There were a lot of regulars that were MIA also. There wasn't that get together of fellow KLOV'ers this time around. It seems to be a trend in the state of the industry as a whole.

For me, Superauctions has been in decline for a couple of years. I'm not really sure what happened to J.R., but I know he wasn't exactly a saint when it came to legitimate business dealings. Even with that being said, his personality will be missed.

I agree with missing J.R.

After so many years seeing the guy and getting to know him.. Its rough going with him gone.

I do know what other super-auction employees have told me about his absence.. I just don't know what I can say.. or believe 100%?

One thing I did notice is that there was a definite decision to stress being on the up and up this time. Never before I have I gone and they read all the legal stuff before the auction began. Last time must have pissed off some new people they drew in through the radio ads. I wonder how long they can keep having these if the machines just aren't showing up. That being said 2 auctions ago was probably one of the deepest ones I'd ever seen. I did attend one years and years ago back when it was in St. Charles in the Bass Pro Shopping Center before that was redone. I remember that having quite a lot of games as well.

I was there.......

The metal slug cartridges (16 of them) went for $65.00 and the box of miscellanious NEO GEO Cartridges went for $200.00. I was talking to the guy who bought them and there he showed me a Nightmare in the Dark cartridge that was in a Aero Fighters box. (Hmmm, wonder who switched the boxes???) There were also 3 single slot PCB's in the box, too. Anyway, it was a good auction for me. I picked up a non-working neo 2 slot that cabinet and control panel was mint! I plan on putting my one slot pcb, 108-1 cartridge and my mint 25" monitor in it. I will sell the 2 slot PCB and marquee (it works) here or one the neo geo site. Only paid $62.50 for it (about $75.00 out the door) has a dead monitor in it but I can sell the chassis. Also picked up a Megatouch MAXX touchscreen for $75.00 (see my other thread in repair help), a box of poker boards and a huge box of misc. PCB's. ( I needed the X-MEN A & B Boards for another game I have that the battery leaked in, I let everyone know if it works) All in all, a good auction for me and worth the 225 mile trek fro Indy...
