I started running a WTB ad in the "items wanted" category. It's very nice and not smart assy like I normally do ;)
My ad was flagged. Hmmmmm wonder why? Then some one posts a bunch of smart ass ads aimed at "me".
Well ... truth be known there is a guy whom also lives in Gresham that just pounds the shit of CL every day 4 times a day with "WTB pinballs" ads. And I've found out from a few local people this guy has a tendency to lie about things and uses these supposive "bad points" to low ball the crap out of people. So automatically I assume I'm being incriminated/discrimiminated because of this guy. The ads are most likely assuming I am him. So I emailed this angry poster and said,
"Hello,

I'm not sure what your issue is with my ad but it's completely unwarranted and unfounded. The ad is listed in the items wanted category and as I state I'm looking for one machine. I am not the same person in Gresham always looking to buy pinball machines. If you have a problem be adult enough to email the person directly. Clearly I'm adult enough to contact you.

Thanks,
Chris"

And can you imagine they haven't responded?
I appears I am getting crucified because of some ther dude being a post whore. So how many of you people run into issues like this?

I've had it happen to me before and I may post an ad a few times a year. Some of these guys flag every wanted ad to reduce competition.

Do tell...
Ive given up on CL here in Michigan, after I got my taxes back I went threw like a week long period where I posted an add where I was looking to buy. Long story short, SOMEONE HAS WAY TO MUCH FREE TIME!! I swear to GOD It got flagged and removed not ten minutes into the whole ordeal EVERYTIME!!

Wow - my ad lasted 4 hours before it got nuked. People are really tired of people looking to buy lol.

maybe you can make it so it hits ur target audience instead of the competition.
make an ad with something like you want $300 or something then link to an add like ur wtb one but kinda hidden with a title that the nuker wouldnt notice maybe?
i dunno worth a try

Check out my post in the pinball section. I had a guy post about 5 different "troll" craigslist posts about my Getaway HighSpeed II sale. I still ended up selling it for my listed price, but it definitely could have or did hurt my sale...

This is one of the reasons I really don't do much with the hobby anymore but work on what I have. There are too many greedy fuckers out there. PERIOD. Especially CL. It is the gutter of scum. Even members here are guilty of being CL bullies spamming every city then getting all out of whack when you post a wanted ad in your local area only. I hope they rot.

Ya know, this is the reason I don't flag anything unless I know for a fact the seller isn't local (arcade boneyard, for example). People start getting pissy about competition and the next thing you know, everybody is flagging everyone else.

But I can understand about suffering from someone else's reputation. There is a KLOV member local to me who initially gave me a bunch of crap and overreacted to a lot of stuff I posted mainly because he knows where I work and doesn't like my boss and the way he does things, and figured I was the same way. He didn't understand that I don't always agree with the practices that go on at work, nor do I go out of my way to use my hobby as a way to help my boss. But he burned it down and pissed on it to the point where we just don't have anything to do with each other because of it, and have gotten into a few disputes since the situation has been clarified, simply because of the ill will from the beginning....

Yeah, we got our first boneyard post the other day as Goze mentioned, so it's funny you mentioned that Mod (or maybe he spammed the whole country at the same time).

You,.........rubbing someone the wrong way.... I just can't imagine that at all. It's just not you. :D

The boneryard. I would not dare to checkout a site with such a name.
