Before and Afters

I'm still really green when it comes to all this pin repair. Burt6666 and I were talking a bit the other day about how a certain someone's shop jobs are really fancy and look "zOMG wow"...

That being said, let's get a thread going! Post your best before/after pictures! I want to see everyone's best handywork! I've seen a few guys on here (BeerOrKid?) that have been pretty active in the "What did you do today" thread, so now let's see your best Before and Afters!

I only have one machine under my belt, but here's what I like the most about it...
Scorched GI lines, burnt connector, spliced to grounding strap, GI lines wired to test points, extra wire hacked in...

Which became...

Nice new clean connector, trifurcon pins, and replaced pin header... ahhhh....

Obviously this is not a lot to brag about, but doing it right felt good. Now show me your best craftsmanship!

Here's one that actually has a before and after pic.

In the corner of the basement where it had sat for decades. Inside, a couple of instruction cards from the unconverted game, a route card showing feeble collections, and the newest item: a box of bulbs from the early '60s.

Nice topic. As much work as this is, there's a great satisfaction in cleaning up and repairing a pinball machine.

Going to go back to this Taxi now that I've discovered polishing with a drill. Been using it a lot with my STTNG. Also got the pop bumper mylar so I can cover up that wear.

My marathon Mystery Castle project... By far the single biggest pinball project I've undertaken. Entire machine was rusty, everything. Didn't work at all. Was stored without its playfield glass for a significant period of time.

Eh, what the heck. Here's a board repair I worked on for SilverUnicorn. (My apologies if you've seen this before, it's been posted on another part of the forum.) It's not my best work, but I think it came out better than expected considering how far gone this board was to start with.

Edit: New headers, pins, housings, and fuse clips. Lots and lots of desoldering and cleaning. Ran some thicker traces/jumpers on the back of the board just to be sure. Factory traces were in rough shape. And yes, one of the fuses is wrong... It was substituted "just to get this one last test" before we wrapped it up for the night.

I need to upload my before pics on a lot of things, but I have plenty of afters. Here's a Taxi and a Getaway. The most dramatic before/after sets I have are probably my Jackbot, TSPP, LOTR, BoP, Hurricane, and Revenge From Mars sets.
