For those of you that know my history in collecting, you know how big this is for me. For those that don't here is a brief story:
I got into collecting in the summer of 2006 (at the age of 14)when I received a Terminator 2 Upright FOR FREE from a family friend who couldn't take seeing his immature nephews rip and destroy it. I had played this game since he purchased it in 1996, so I knew the game VERY well, and we used to play it all the time. He gave it to me, and said "I know that this is where the game belongs, I know you will take care of it". I promised him I would keep it forever. I cried on the way home, I was so happy.
From that day on, I started collecting. The game went into our garage, and I swore I would eventually get it upstairs into our basement, no matter how much my parents were against it. Eventually another game joined it, and then another. Finally, my dad got into it a bit, and purchased an Eight Ball Deluxe, and I already had a Super Pacman so they both got moved upstairs because my parents liked them... but Terminator was considered "pointless and dumb" so it wasn't allowed to make the trip with the other games.. Eventually, I sold the Super Pacman, and the Eight Ball Deluxe was sold as well. But the Terminator remained... It's the game "I'll keep forever", and I meant it.
Eventually, I ran into some cocktail cabinets, and a Minty Robotron cocktail soon after. It was allowed upstairs, but the cocktail cabinets had to sit in the garage with Terminator 2. Then, yesterday, I finally got the chance I've been waiting for. My dad came up to me and said "hey, you throw those empty cabinets in the shed, and T2 can come upstairs.. I need the room for woodworking." I was shocked, and instantly agreed. I moved the game from its normal spot, and cleaned it up:
Now, it is FINALLY in the basement!
I am so happy that the game is finally where it belongs, and it now has a safe spot to stay while I am away at college. Here is a pic of both of the games:
Thanks for listening.
