OK, I used to have a SOUTH PARK Pin and let it go because it DID get old! BUT! I am tired of the new "movie themed" Pinball machines. Who thinks a Beavis & Butthead Pin would be cool?? Every time it hit a bumper it would go BOIOIOIOIIINNG! Heehehehheh!!

Yea with Beavis yellling Fire! Fire! Fire! telling you to shoot the ball.

"Heh...heh...heh...shutup dumass!"

I'd start saving now if it were to be announced. Its really not a bad idea because they are back on Mtv.

I dunno, it could go one way or the other. I can imagine the sound bytes and such getting extremely annoying very fast, and I can't really imagine the artwork being worth a shit, but B&B has a ton of material at this point they could harvest from to make the theme work and if they don't cheap out and put some effort into coming up with decent playfield toys it might not suck too bad.

But it would also depend on the pinball maker and I think Stern might not do a good job with it. Maybe, maybe not.

This is one of the reasons I have no interest in newer pins. Everything is a movie or TV theme. Why not just random themes anymore?

Gotta agree with that, would be nice to see something of an original nature for a change...but see why they don't as well..

That said..man... they are seriously on a roll with the new series, IMO. they did it right by not trying to be anything more than what it originally was, minus the music videos and plus making fun of reality TV. I'll take it. "Tune in next week...will Snooki poop?"

because if its a theme people like they will buy it regardless of if its *that* great or not... if its some made up theme whos to say its going to be good or bad?

people won't pre-order, they will wait till other people review it, and inevitably since its not a bally/williams it will "suck" no matter what

and thats why I would be willing to bet we will never see a "unique" themed pin, ever again

anyway, a lot of the most popular pins are themed... MM is pretty much a monty python rip off, TZ, AF, TSPP, IJ, etc... AFM/TotAN are probably the only non theme pin I can think of that are really popular...

monster bash? scared stiff? circus voltaire? theatre of magic? white water? getaway? and the older funhouse, whirlwind, etc.? come on, there are *many* good pins that aren't based on TV or movies - they're just pre-stern.

Thus the excitement over TF is explained. BTW, the 2nd game from JJP is said to be an original (non-licensed) theme. And there are the Magic Girl and Zombie pins coming from JPop (the latter with Ben Heck). Although these will be more limited in production.

I didn't say good, I said POPULAR, most POPULAR games are themed with some exceptions obviously... but there is too much risk in a non-licensed theme... you can blame stern all you like but I can't really blame them...

really? because when I was hearing him talk, like 5 ft in front of me, he said his second title MAY be an original...

name your most POPULAR 20 games. i'd be interested to see how it differs from any of the "popular" lists.

come on.

your top 20 POPULAR.

and then let's see how many are tv or movie themed.

i'm even stupid enough to let it be your top 20 POPULAR list instead of any other list.
