I have a newly acquired Battlezone. I replaced the big blue and rebuilt the AR2 before turning it on. Upon first powering on, the monitor tube had a short and was visibly arcing. I have replaced the tube. The spot killer stays on, no sound, start button stays lit upon power on. +5 lights on main and aux board are lit and voltages look ok. I have now installed the braze high score kit, but no change.

I have a limited score(think logic probe with display). Anything I can check before sending it to a professional?

Thanks!

Try test mode? The main board will work in test mode without the aux board being connected. Will help narrow down the issue. Also, clean, inspect, and re-seat the two roms by themselves in the second row of sockets. The braze kit does not cover issues with these two roms.

after that, time for a professional.....

No luck entering test mode. I get no sign of life other then leds lit regardless of the test switch position. I reseated all of the socketed chips with special attention to the two roms mentioned. Now I understand why everyone curses the installed sockets. I am reasonably sure all of the pins on those two chips have continuity to the pcb. My dmm shows the resistance when testing continuity and I saw a drop for each, but wasn't always able to get a beep. I will look for the processor pinout and test with my scope. After that I am open to suggestions.

Thanks!
