I was wondering if anyone could share some of their wisdom on bullet-proofing a BZ PCB? I've looked on the web but haven't found anything specific to the boards. I've taken the games back to my game guru so many times and everytime we get them working there, they tweak by the time I get them back. Three board sets, all tweaked except for one..and that's only a matter of time! Any help?

Buy the high score save module and remove the roms, that should help, also remove old solder then resolder on both of the interconnect headers and that should help keep it running.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the advice. I actually had the High Score kit on the list to eventually get, will have to invest in it a bit sooner.

+1.....The only thing that saved mine from being put out in the parking lot and set afire! ;)

theres some small dip size ics on the edges of the board that are socketed. DO yourself a huge favor and replace all of those sockets, the originals suck donkey balls

The interboard connectors are a common failure point. Reflow the interboard headers and replace those crappy IDC connectors.

You're probably not going to like this but I've had two component failures on our Battlezone in the past 6 months or so. The basic "keep the interconnects good and get rid of the ROM socket" strategy isn't paying off so well anymore. Those still need to be done, but I don't really think there is such a thing as a "Bulletproofed" BZ. ;)

I don't like you...
