I have a Battlezone that part of the graphics start flickering all over the place when it's cold. The background graphics stay ok, it's just everything that moves. Then as it warms up 5-10 minutes it all settles down. I have pluged it into another monitor and it does the same thing so it would lead me to believe it's a cold solder joint somewhere on the board. Any ideas?

thanks,
Mark

If it's not the ram another trick you can do is to take a heat gun and carefully heat up a couple of ICs at a time to help isolate the culprit. Or vice versa after the game is warmed up and happy, start cooling off ICs - I use a small pancake compressor to blow cool air or you you can use freeze spray.

Flickering as in the intensity of the foreground objects changes? If you narrow it down to just the brighter foreground objects as having the problem, it may be the vector output section that handles intensities (C7, D7) or maybe R29-R32.
