Hello all,

I'm guessing no, but I thought I'd ask. Is there a Jamma adapter out there for Battlezone?

My thinking is this, I have a RedZone board in my BZ because I really love BZ2, but the RedZone BZ sounds are way off so much so I don't like playing it. But I miss original BZ.

If there were a Jamma adapter, I could put both the original BZ boardset and the RedZone board in my cab and switch to BZ when I wanted to play it.

Any suggestions?
Thx
Tom

There are no Jamma adapters floating around to my knowledge. Problem is that battle zone used an XY Vector display instead of a raster display like every jamma adapter. Battlezone also utilized voltages not presant in a standard jamma pinout. Kind of pointless to make an adapter if it cannot be used in a standard jamma configuration.

Yeah, that's true. I didn't think about the voltage thing when the whole switcher idea popped into my head.

Thx

I do not have a great suggestion, but what pops into my head is figuring out a way to mount the RedZone BZ and the original BZ boards in a way you can switch the harness between the two through the front coin door at the front of the cabinet.

Interesting. I didn't know this was a shortcoming of the Redzone board. Is there a video comparing the sounds to the original?

I've been kicking around getting one, but I don't want to end up in the same boat your in...

I don't mean to make it sound like it's unplayable, but the sounds are lower and somewhat muffled to me. It could be a personal preference, but it is a bit different.

I made my own Battlezone Red Baron Multi out of my Battlezone.

Just reach in through the coin door and swap 5 molex connectors and the control panel and you can play the other game.

The BZ monitor gel even fits perfect on the Red Baron screen.
