Man I love Battlezone but I can't even get 30,000 on mine! Could one of you guys put up a tips video on YouTube?
Frizz, that's a gorgeous picture of your screen. I tried to take one for a friend and had a hard time getting the picture to come out right. Did you do anything special for the shot?
Ahem. I'll just leave this here.
Seriously, spend 5 minutes with Brian and you'll improve exponentially. It is all about coming in with your tank at an angle where the enemy bullets don't hit you.Yeah... I suck.
Thanks for the confirmation though. I'm up to 92K as of last night.

...because you've got the wrong angle.I have zero problems with the standard tanks... and I am getting pretty good with the super tanks as well. It's the damn missiles. The first wave is easy... the 2nd wave gets harder... by the time you get to the 75K+ range the missiles kick your ass.
I don't know about the OP, but how I photograph my BZ screen...
-flash off!
-aperature as wide as possible (the means a the lowest F-stop number).
-hold camera VERY steady (a tripod is best).
It's difficult to get enough light for a good image while also getting a short enough exposure time to prevent blur (due to either camera motion or on-screen motion). Having a fancy camera (digital SLR) helps, becasue the lenses tend to have larger aperatures than point&shoot cameras.
My current HS is ~130,000. I'd love to see some youtube video of missile techniques. As mentioned by another poster, the tanks aren't too much of an issue for me... but those missiles whip my ass. I haven't been able to develop a reliable technique for them yet.
Oh, and for those with uprights and periscopes: Do you have a "regular" (deep blue looking) black-light? Or a "white" black-light? I could hardly see my cardboard background with a dark-blue one, so I switched to a "white" black-light (harder to find, I had to go to a local lighting specialty store). I love it--in addition to the UV light, it gives of some white light so the cardboard background is nicely lit (but not too bright).
My camera has a "night" setting which works great for vids if I turn off the flash...
I also found a kickass trick for cameras with crappy night settings. Take a piece of dark tape (I use aluminum tape) and cover the flash with it. Now take a photo... the settings most cameras use in (AUTO) look great when taking monitor shots ... but the flash kills it... cover the flash and you're golden!
Yeah... I suck.
