Hi Everyone,

I picked up a Battlezone today that is in amazing shape.. The problem is that when I turn it on, all I get is a tiny green dot in the middle of the screen...

This is my first vector game so any help would be appreciated. I am not sure if it is a monitor problem or a board problem..

Thanks,

Chris

Don't run the cab with that dot on screen for very long... you will burn the phospher off the tube and you'll be stuck with a black dot that doesn't display jack squat.

You're monitor chassis likely will need to be rebuilt. Does the game play blind? Does the cab have a G05-802 or WG19V2000 monitor? I thought there was a spot-killer on both but perhaps I am wrong (a spot killer circuit will essentially "turn-off" high voltage if it comes up with only the dot...it's a safety circuit to prevent burn in). I am not terribly experienced with these things, so you may wanna hold off for someone more in the know before doing anything.

In your other thread, you said all you can get is 4.26v on the +5 after adjusting the ARII board.

My last BZ had a main board issue. I had the same green dot. I thought it was a monitor problem but the monitor works flawless. If the X and Y signals are not getting to the monitor from the boards for whatever reason. you can get that dot. Your monitor might be fine.

My BZ will do nothing running 4.26V. Your ARII board might not be your only issue, but I had a Asteroids Deluxe same thing got about 4.5v on the AR board could not get anymore, green dot on screen. Bought a AR board on ebay, and its been running perfect.
