Battlezone graphics issue

There are two ROMS on the PCB board that the Braze kit doesn't replace, and the main board still uses these ROMS(see photo). Pull those ROMS out clean them and reseat them, and maybe even replace the sockets.

I have cleaned all of the sockets and reseated the chips several times and nothing has changed. Arcade circuit board repair on ebay advertises partially working pcb's repaired for $65, has anyone had any dealings with this guy good or bad? El dorado games is only 5 hours away, but $185 is a little too much for me especially when my board is mostly working.

Replacing a socket involves soldering, that is what may be needed, what are your personal soldering skills playpin?

If that is the guy in Austin, I sent him a partially working SI deluxe board and got back a different board because he couldn't fix it either. Glad to see I wasn't the only one that couldn't figure out what was wrong. That's all I have to say about that.

It does nothing in self test mode, screen just goes blank.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2pXvbx8Nf4

Forgot to ask... does it beep at you even though the screen is blank? And make sure you put the switch in test mode with the game off, then turn it on. You don't *have* to do it this way, but I've noticed Battlezone acts funky when being switched in and out of test mode sometimes.

If you hear some short lower tones and then a higher tone that lasts a little longer, that indicates a RAM error.

I have only switched to test mode while powered on. I'll try it with power off. With power on there have been no tones so far. I might try it today as the game is somewhere else and nothere in front of me.

Also, if you just hear one little beep... try pressing the fire or start button. If you here those same little beeps when you do, that usually means the self-test passed the RAM test and you should get that grid.
