Seems like TMNT gets all the love..I guess I get it...it was a huge 90's thing and all the 90's kids are collecting now and love the common Jamma stuff (though battletoads is 90's jamma as well) but for me battletoads is a lot more bang for the buck. There are side scrolling levels, there's levels like double dragon with weapons. there's even a shoot em up level...great game that doesn't seem to get a lot of attention. Which do YOU prefer and why..

Battlechodes all the way

not to slag on TMNT (which is a great game), but BT is much more of a unique title that's goofy, over-the-top, and incorporates humor into the in-game action

and let's keep it real ... TMNT is pretty much the same generic Konami 90's beat-em-up game as X-men, Sunset Riders, Simpsons, etc ...

TMNT all day. Battletoads is an ok game, but it is way too hard and you'll spend $30 trying to beat the game where TMNT would be like $5.

I love both, but recently, Battletoads has been my cup of tea. It's got that "over the top" vibe to it. Turtles may be RADICAL DUDE, but Toads are TOADALLY INSANE! ;)

Too hard? That's what FREE PLAY is for. :)

My son would go with TMNT. He's 6 and loves everything about the turtles. He has no idea what Battletoads are.

TMNT was ubiquitous in the arcades whereas Battletoads had a much smaller release and didn't get exposure until the nes release.

This is my sentiment, TMNT was everywhere where as BattleToads I can't even remember seeing in an arcade but loved it on the NES.

If I was in a arcade spending quarters, I'd say tmnt hands down. Though if I had a choice to buy tmnt or battletoads---I'd buy Battletoads. I really like the arcade version of battletoads but I suck at it all the same :p

I would argue that every single one of those games plays entirely different.

I have more experience with and greater attachment to TMNT, but the Battletoads arcade game is actually very good.

I acquired them both... I think I like Battletoads more because of the reasons the OP stated - variety of levels and gameplay win out.

BTW Battle toads NES is one of the hardest NES games out there.
