So I got this cabinet for free. It was a TMNT that was converted to an NBA Jam that was converted to an Area 51 that I am converting to Battletoads. Very exhausting effort getting the project completed. Lots of bondo work, hole filling, sanding, monitor shelf fabrication, replacing broken cabinet corners, etc. Glad it's finally done. The monitor shelf was removed and someone installed support beams to support a different monitor at some point. I was able to acquire the correct style of monitor for this cabinet which required fabricating a new shelf. 3 of the 4 corners for broken or missing and being hidden behind corner protectors. I had to rebuild them all. The cabinet was empty except for a power supply and hacked up Jamma harness. I had a spare complete OEM Mortal Kombat 2 harness and was able to use that including the disconnects for the underside of the control panel. I picked up a PCB from a fellow collector in Kansas City. I also had to make a brand new control panel since the original was so swiss cheesed from being converted twice before. Lastly, the monitor had some slight convergence issues that I took care of which you can see in the initial pics vs the last ones. After all was said and done, this is the result. It's going on location at The Arcade in Wichita. If you're ever in town, swing by and say hello.

I paid 250-300 for a NOS Battletoads kit in 1998-9. This was when TMNT boards could be had for $10 -$15 on ebay. Simpsons was about $75. There were 10-20 TMNT boards up for auction at any given time. Besides the kit I bought, never seen Battletoads on ebay back then.

Accounting for inflation, its probably about the same price then as now. The original artwork has bad dithering like ink jet. So aftermarket looks way better. The new redesigned aftermarket cpo looks great too.

Awesome work.
