Kalamazoo BattleTech Pilots! Open Pod Nights resume in Kalamazoo!

After a multi-year hiatus, we will resume open pod nights at the VGL Underground on Friday November 18th, and will follow up on Friday December 2nd. Start times are 8PM and we run to 11PM-ish. Bring your own food and drink, it ill be a lot of fun! We expect to run the pod bay every other Friday as weather and schedules permit.

It is completely free and we will be playing both BattleTech and Red Planet in some of the 11 Tesla II cockpits that we have on site.

Recruit!

If we can get enough players, we will start a player ladder and eventually will form basic leagues!

Doing this again this coming Friday night.

Strange coincidence, I am dead tired today from playing tabletop Battletech all night. Wish I lived closer, I'd love to give these pods a try!

man, these always take place on days that I am not back on the West side of the state. I am going to plan to come down on a Friday and come over to check these out. It looks like a lot of fun and something I definitely want to experience!

Thanks for offering up the gaming!

I so wish I was closer, it's a goal of mine to eventually experience one of these (or those Japanese Gundam pods)!

Had a chance to try some of those pods here in NY a few years back. What a kick-ass system it really is, particularly in situations where you really get to know the custom configurations to it.

Though I felt the software was a bit too arcadey for the cockpit, not sure what the current stuff is like. I never really had any need to look at the ancillary displays or any of that stuff. Just throttle / stick / pedals and blast away.

Chance are you played in 'Basic Mode'. Most walk-up players havnt been trained to use all of the other ancillary panels and features.

when you have been trained, the heat gets turned up and you need to use all of those panels in the heat of battle.

Yes, it was basic mode. But at $5 per 5 minute game I wasn't going to be throwing a lot of money into the things.

If I ever had the time, money and room I'd LOVE to get a set of them, but that's never going to happen.

I may be able to make it, not 100% sure yet. If I do, my brother may be interested in coming too. He used to like playing the ones at the North Pier mall in Chicago.
