Have a chance to grab this for a decent price. Seems like a cool game. Anyone played it? I love the series, especially this movie. Great condition.

If you like collecting late 90's comic books too, then yes, by all means grab it. The game will only increase in value.

If you are talking the Batman game with Michael Keaton, its sucks ass as far as gameplay goes. But that said, I'll never sell my board. Its sort of like Haunted Castle, shitty gameplay, controls suck, but its a game that will always stay in my collection just because.

I have one too, Game play isn't all that exciting but I have no plans of ever parting with it. Is yours in a dedicated cab? Not many of those made it off the assembly line, most were sold as kits. My original board set died a few years back but I was lucky enough to find a working board to replace it. I was still in the manufacturing plant doing final board testing when that one came out. 8+ hours a day testing those and now I can't even make it through the first few levels on a single player. Go figure.... ;^)

grab it

i saw the one on the kentucky craig.. its in a nice delux data east cab. for 250, the board, marquee and bezel (which all look very nice) are worth it,,,, you could sell or trade the cab for a dynamo which would support the kit much nicer ( in terms of looks) my 2c

shameless thread hijack lol. anyone want a pcb marquee and monitor bezel for $175 shipped?

Good story Dave! A BIG thanks for scanning the sideart for me as well!

Never knew there were dedicated cabs of it. It was my understanding that all were kits? I have a NOS bezel and overlay just waiting for a nice Dynamo cab to come along my way.

Gameplay-wise it blows... It's like a poor version of Rolling Thunder but somehow even worse? I really think they tried to make up for the gameplay aspect by including digitised graphics and sound calls.

I remember when Jeff had one of the members of the Atari Batman team on COSP. I had asked 'what happened'? He chuckled and said it was a 'rush' job, hence the final product.....

Yea, we rushed that game due to pressure from WB, thats why it's on old hardware and basically a remake of RT. We mad like NO $$$ on that game due to all of the royalties. To add insult to injury there were some issues with getting the image rights and legal releases from an certain actress, that delayed the game even more. I'd like to think that if we had time to do it right it would have/could have been a great game.

"Never knew there were dedicated cabs of it. It was my understanding that all were kits?"

I guess I should clarify this a bit. Yes we made and sold complete game in Cabs directly from our factory. All of them were in the standard "universal" cabs that we used for many games during that time. So as far as "dedicated" goes the cabs were nothing "special" but they were sold as complete games. So when I asked if it was a "dedicated cab" I'm relay asking if it's in a "ATARI" cab or in something else, i.e.a "kit".

Mine is actually in a ATARI cab but it'a not the same as the cabs that we put them in originally. I used my "Scull and Crossbones" "dedicated" cabinet for my Batman.

The only real difference is the header board above the marquee, it follows the lines of it and my original plan was to add something on center-top to look like bat ears. I never did it but maybe someday...

need further clarification...

so are you saying the cabs shipped from atari were in the universal dynamo? or the atari cab similar to escape from the planet of robot monsters? I have the manual for batman and it showsn the early 90's atari cab lke the "escape" LMK. thanks, ive always wondered about this. can you post a pic of your batman?

also, who ever posted the marquee and bezel for sale, would love to see pic..

Yes, the Batman games in cabs that were shipped from the factory were in the universal ones, just like the ones we shipped Pit-Fighter in, minus the 3 player pod. (see pic)

Mine's in an old "Skull and Crossbones" cab, slightly different than the "Escape From The Planet Of The Robot Monsters" but basically the same. (see pic) It's not the best pic but it's all I have on this PC. That was from our old house when I had my games in the garage. I had "Pit-Fighter" in it then since my Batman board had just died prior to taking those pics.

Wow, except for the chincy side art, that's gorgeous:

Thanks, I've since touched up the cab some but I never got around really customizing it. Although I do have some yellow buttons I'll eventually swap for those blue ones. ;^)

Holy buckets Batman! Anyhow my kit is still for sale if anyone wants it! bezel 100% working pcb and marquee.

i think ive asked for pics quite a few times, once in this thread and another when you had it posted on feebay. Is that possible. I never buy anything sight unseen. thanks!

I looked back and next to Batman is Klax. I am not good at that game but man is it a fun one to play. I can't stand Tetris, I love klax though!
