I got this a while ago but just finished restoring/customizing it. I made custom art for the screen bezel and sides of the cabinet.

I also got rid of the coin slots by sanding down Suzo-Happ buttons and putting them in standard arcade coin bezels.

Interesting.

Can you talk a bit more about your decisions on how you composed the sideart?

Sure. The original screen bezel had pictures around it, with the 25 inch screen I had I felt there was not enough room to adequately show them. I created a different screen bezel and decided to put pictures on the side art instead. I was inspired by the filmstrip on the back cover of the graphic novel.

I had my brother enlarge this picture with fractals to 200dpi and aproximately 70 inches tall.

I then took a 32 inch wide vertical slice of the pic.

I drew the filmstrip to size also at 200dpi. I then used alt-PrtScr to get pictures I chose from the Blu-ray of the movie.

With the help of my brother, some additional color correcting (to make the filmstrip darker black than the rest of the picture).

I imported a vector illustration of the Atari Games logo.

Then sent the completed pictures (left and right sides are flipped and have different pictures from the movie) to This Old Game for printing.

The result was this.

If you have any other questions, I would be happy to answer them. :)

Thanks to all who replied. Just a bonus, here is the screen bezel I drew before Rich from This Old Game pasted in the instructions. It was designed to complement the batsymbol.

Awesome job! I'm looking at restoring a cab for my Batman board and saw this old game had all the graphics now. I've always been hesitant about the side art though.

Very nice indeed!

Eventually I would like to do a full resto on mine and placed next to my Data East Batman pin. I do have a nos marquee, bezel and panel artwork just sans the sideart.

I was talking to an Atari employee that was involved in the Batman project; he mentioned it was originally supposed to be in a Pit Fighter style of cab but was opted later to be released solely as a kit. Thinking I'm going that route...

I do love the sideart you pieced together. Soooo much more favorable than the generic art they used. What made you customize your bezel over the original though? I do like what Atari chose there.

My decision to create a new screen bezel was that I didn't think there was enough room to fit pictures with my 25' screen (Yes, I know that the kit included one). The instructions also wouldn't fit at the bottom of my screen so I moved them to the top.
