Hey all hoping to get moving on this a bit more. Got this Battlezone this summer and was fighting what I thought was a monitor problem. The X is too narrow. The whole game runs within the narrow spot but cannot adjust size at all with the pot.
In time got a second monitor (14") and lo and behold doing the same thing so it is a pcb issue. It displays fine on oscilloscope ( I am assuming I am just multiplying the X) but narrow on both monitors. I have already disconnected the aux board in test mode to rule out avg problems. Tested resistors in that area and except for the odd serial resistors on R83 all reads well.
I also tried piggy-backing a dac tl082 for kicks just to see if it would change anything and nothing did. So no errors on startup but cannot adjust the x-size at all. Guessing the next likely one is the other DAC chip in the X circuit which I am looking into getting. all roms tested good as well and althought the sockets are original continuity seems good; and my trouble is only in the X-size. I have even played a few narrow games (very challanging). Have not got out the logic probe either as time is currently tight but that is also on my todo list. Any input would be great. Will attach a picture of what i have for video. Thanks in advance.

Edit video too big. Now to find a hosting service.
