If I have garble on the screen and only here a slight sound effect when I turn on the game, would it be the board or power supply? You can see junk on the screen, and only a slight "shooting" sound effect when you plug the game in. Monitor comes up. Tried plugging the harness back in, have not touched the PCB or chips, it looks clean. Does this sound common?

Try reseating the 5 chips on the daughter card.

Just tried that, same problem, monitor takes awhile to warm up, very loud "buzz" sound, and distorted image on screen, nothing else, going into test mode, giving credits does nothing, just the same loud buzz and extremely distorted image on the screen.

- Verify the voltages to the boardset are correct or within tolerances.

- There are two PROMs on the end of the board, opposite the edge connector. Galaxian, must like Pac-Man, sees lots of problems related to PROMs. Remove the aux (daughter) board and reseat it again. Verify each of the PROMs has clean, non-corroded legs (common). There are also sometimes socketed RAM around that aux board, depending on the version of the board you have.

- Download the Galaxian test ROM and see what it says (it helps me every once in a while).
