I will be hosting a basic troubleshooting session/arcade party this Sunday at my house. I have had 2 confirm so far; if you would like to attend PM me and I will give you more information. This lesson will cover basic electronics, quick short cuts, how and when to use a mulit-meter, etc..We will probably troubleshoot a couple a games (Tekken 3, Millipede {not my game}, and maybe couple others). We might get into some semi-advanced stuff, but mostly will stay basic, so as to not leave anyone out. Although I know enough to troubleshoot, I am still learning too, so it will also be good to hear other tips. If you are interested let me know.
Thanks,
Greg

Good day of learning. Millipede was also a good reminder to start with the basics before trying to figure out why it isn't firing up. It was good meeting Greg and Joe, and thanks for hosting. I'll try and return the favor sometime once I get my garage fixed up and get a few more games.

Thanks for coming Joe. Tell Christian I said thanks for coming too. I had a great time. I don't mind any questions. Like I said there is no dumb question. Also, order those Millipede components (capacitor kit, and transformer) and we will do another session where we install them and continue troubleshooting it. I hope everything was informative, and thank you for teaching me about the door switch (too funny). Talk with you guys soon.

Thanks Phil. It was great to meet you. I told my wife about your driving around the neighborhood looking for the house. She said "Why didn't you give him your cell number"? I am such an idiot sometimes...lol. Yea, Millipede was a great learning experience (my first time to work on an Atari), but nevertheless the basics is where it all begins. As I told Joe once he get those components we will continue the troubleshooting, so I will message you when that's gonna go down. It was great meeting you, and hope to see you at another meet-up (either my place or yours when it's ready).

PS: Note to self: Houston is a great place since it has so many arcade collectors. However, it sucks that it is so f-ing big. For most people a hour drive will take them out of their state. A hour drive is only half way through our city.

Don't worry about it, I eventually found it, and I'm glad Joe's Millipede cab was nice and bright, it stood out when I drove past it. I'll definitely be at another meet up when I get a chance. I'm going to have to travel for work a bit over the next couple of months, but I think I'm going to be home on most weekends, so I'll be there if I'm in town once Joe's parts come in. I may bring my Pole Position up too if I haven't fixed it by that point.

Yeah, it does suck that it's so spread out. It ended up taking me just under an hour to get home yesterday.
