Barn find Vectorbeam Warrior UPDATE : It's alive ! It's ALIVE !

That's cool that you got it going Arc. If I were you, I'd take traces of the cabinet and the dimensions for a possible cabinet resto for someone. Then gut the bad and salvage what you can from the rest of it.
Unfortunately, I'd part it if it were to be sold to someone non-local and include the vinyl sides, or the side art, at least. I'm sure there are a few here on the forums who are capable to do the cabinet restoration.
It's a catch 22-- a shame that it isn't in better shape, but it IS a working Warrior!

If you don't particularly like the game, try and sell it locally to someone who is interested in doing a complete resto. I do not think it would be too hard to find a buyer within driving distance.

I think it's awesome that the electronics on this thing survived. From what I understand, the Cinematronics hardware doesn't always hold up well under ideal circumstances!

I had fun trying it out at Cal Extreme. Kinda interesting that there is no single player mode...

Hmmm... 16 hour round trip for a rare crumbling project? Any idea what your price range would be?

Amazing that you got it going...proves you never know with these old games. I hope someone will make use of it; as a whole or the parts.

Whats amazing is the condition of the electronics compared to the condition of the cabinet. The monitor board is a little dirty, but the others are almost spotless, i didnt have to clean them. I will make sure this game ends up in the right hands or I will rebuild it myself if needed. Some people will take this the wrong way, but it will be hard to sell this game, and whoever buys it is going to have to show that they have done some previous resto work. I wont let someone without any experience experiment on a game this rare. The price will be high enough so someone doesnt buy and start parting it out to make money on it.

Forgot this pic of the marquee. I will probably take some pics of the inside art pieces tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure this game made a cameo in Fast Times at Ridgemont High, no?

I must say, even with the condition of the cabinet, it was a cool game to play.
Dave and I both had pretty damned big grins on our faces after it booted up.
I think the artwork on Warrior is second only to Death Race.

That looks like a cool game for sure... Reminds me of "The Bilestoad" on the Apple II.

$10 to anyone who can guess what they were on when they came up with the game title - and the company name.

They were on some shrooms man! :D My guess anyway...

About the name "The Bilestoad"...

Beil is German for axe. Tod is German for death. I phoneticized them and stuck in an "s" for a compound word and the rest is history. I was somewhat influenced there by Anthony Burgess's wonderful novel Clockwork Orange. Since I set my game in the distant future, it would be completely unrealistic to assume that people would be speaking twentieth century English, hence my use of borrowed German words throughout the game.

I have had a few people asking me what i want for it, what i think its worth etc. Not planning on parting it out, but if i were to part it, I would say that the motherboard being clean, rare and working, is worth 300 to 350, the sound board at least 125-150, the monitor at least 125-150, that still leaves the power supply, control panel, bezel and marquee, that are actually in decent condition, plus the inner art pieces. I would say this game would bring in 500 to 600 if parted out, and that is I think what it would take for me to sell it whole, otherwise i will probably rebuild it myself and then possibly sell it. Although by the time i put that much energy into it, it will most likely end up in the game room ;) Anyone else have an opinion on the value of this game, chime in.
