Wooo. FInally found my DK. It's a basket case as far as the inernals go, and fucking mice moved in big time and shit everywhere and even chewed caps on the Hogan's Alley board. Gross things :(

Here are some pics. I'm super excited.

See all the nibbled parts? That aside, though, the board looks fine.

What is this part? I know zero about these machines. Assuming it's for RFI?

This CP will go with all parts and marquee.

Tube looks good! Chassis has some rust and nibbled caps and a couple rusted bits.

This was the mouse's home and shit storage facility. I need to clean and bleach. I removed everything and now probably have hantavirus. Tips for clean up?

That's a filter board. Simply bridges the connection from outside the RF cage to the inside.

People were paranoid in the 80s and thought that radio frequencies were going to cause airplanes to fall out of the sky or something.

Oh, and nice tube. Looks like it has little to no burn. Man, I love Sanyo monitors.

The guy also had a Ms. Pac and it's screen was a disaster of burn. Thou maybe not noticeable.

So can I do without the filter board?

$150 Canadian?

...let me see, divide by 2...and carry the 1. Wow...that's like only $40 US!

Yea, even if you only got a working monitor is was worth it! :)

Not sure if you're joking or not, but that's like $112US.

Would be interesting to hear how the restoration on this goes. I'm skeptical that replacing just caps on that board will bring it back to life. Are you going to convert it back to DK?

It was 150 USD. I drove to upper New York state to get it.
Considering how long I've looked for one, I couldn't pass it up.

I don't have a clue if it would or not. Yeah, I'll sell all the VS. stuff and start finding DK bits, laminate and so on.

I'll make a thread as I go for sure.

Damn, man! Definitely a good price!! As for the Filter Board... I took one out of my Pole Position, and it's fine without it. Still, as mentioned before, someone might be looking for one, so don't trash it just yet.

Hell, $150 for a DK cab in decent shape, especially with a nice monitor like that..... you got a good deal.

Just need to clean the rust up a bit on the frame, that'll eat through it eventually.

Was there anything of note which happened when you crossed the border? or did it go pretty smoothly?

No problems at all. I've done it before. They ask if I plan to resell or is it personal (no idea what bearing this could have). How much did I pay and can they see a receipt (I showed the Facebook post) I paid my taxes as was on my way.

Smooth as can be.

Thats a solid find for what you got. Crazy to see all those caps hollowed out by mice on the Vs PCB. You can probably say it was their last meal.
