Whaddup KLOV nation!

I'm on another business trip and I have a couple of evenings to check out NYC. Not much, but some. And I need some advice from fellow KLOV'ers out in that direction!

I'm staying in Times Square, as the event is being held nearby.

I'm thinking of taking the subway out to Brooklyn and Barcade, as I've been hearing that's the spot to hit. I'm also looking for any place in the city that has a good selection and sells classic console stuff (anything, but mostly NES, SNES, etc). I can't go crazy with travel. I'm stuck with staying fairly close by and can use the taxis and trains, that's about it.

Any suggestions, recommmendations or whatnot about where I should go?

Bonus stage: Anyone wanna meet up?

Any/all help is appreciated!!

I will try, problem is that he apparently hasn't posted since last March?

Anyone else from the area care to chime in.....hmmmmmmmm? :)

Barcade was a good time; had a friend of mine's 30th birthday there a couple of years ago. If you plan on making the trek to Brooklyn, just call ahead to double check the place is still open. Bars/clubs open up and close down constantly in the volatile world of NYC nightlife.

Barcade is alive and well. Non video game related news Criff Dog just opened a place in Brooklyn. If you go to Barcade and if you love hot dogs check out Criff Dog. Nom!

Hey Gil, I met you at the Seattle show last year. In fact, I killscreened your DK there and signed your machine. :) Yeah, I live on the same block as Barcade, so we should definitely meet up. It's a great place, especially if you also love craft beer as I do. Let me know!

Barcade isn't far from a subway/train stop, maybe 2-3 blocks from what I remember, though they're creepy, look-over-your-shoulder kind of blocks :)

Can you diggg it?

I just went to barcade back the day before new years. It was packed! If you go, let someone know that they desperately need to replace the gears of their outrun machine. Im a god at that game and could barely get past the first stage!

I'm an Outrun beast myself so I'll be sure to check it out and give em hell if it's not in top form! :argue:

As a proper Seattlite, craft is all I drink man!!! I'm ready to rawk some games and get my crunk on...

I grew up in south Seattle, lots of gangs n such. Worked nighters, so I'm familiar. Prolly not as bad as NYC familiar, but I'll keep my eyes out. :001_ssleepy:

I dig some good dogs and good nomz! How far is the place from Barcade? I'm sure I can google map it just fine...heh.

Thanks everyone for the help and heads up! I'm in touch with Ben now and I'm wicked excited. The best part? It's all on the company! :D

Anyone got info on where I can buy and bring home some good, cheap classic console stuff?

Again, thanks to those who has posted!
