Hah, wouldn't mind meeting up with some of you guys !
We'll be first in NYC, than touring New England area, up to Weir's beach of course and stay there for a couple of nights.
After that we'll head to West Massachusetts (near North Adams) to visit family.
Three weeks total in the US...
I might still try to sneak into the Breukelen, pardon Brooklyn Barcade by myself, but I'm not too comfortable about leaving my wife and kid by themselves in NYC for a very long time...

opened about 20 mins ago. bar is nice, rest is kinda plain and bright. seating seems like old school chairs they picked up at auction. hopefully a labor of love, because i dont see it being a cash cow.

Tell that to their Brooklyn location. It's been thriving for years.... thus the reason for them opening another.
People need to be more excited about this and not be cynical. This is an arcade OPENING UP in the year 2011 that has beer specials every day, food, and 30+ games, one of which being a Starwars cockpit, with the NEWEST game being from the late 1980s.... and none of that redemption crap that litters "arcades".

Looks like more game could fit in there if all those games where pushed together along the back wall. At least there's still room for game expansion.

nice beer list. I was just commenting on ambiance of the place. High end drafts.....cafeteria style seating. Hopefully upgrades are scheduled, and this is just to get the ball rollin. The beers themselves will draw customers, the arcade games are just an added bonus.

Would I get away with simply not understanding the signs saying 21 years minimum age (being a foreigner)....damn....wanna go there !! Wanna play the SW cockpit and put my name on the scoreboard ! (Is it fixed already ?)

No news on it being fixed yet
Not sure about being able to get away with under 21 in the JC location... but their Brooklyn location is actually a couple subway rides away and they have no 21+ rule over there.

Sorry, I'm wrong! You do have to be 21 to enter both Jersey City and Brooklyn Barcade.
For some reason, I thought you had asked if you can bring your DOG into the place and confused it with the 21 rule! The Brooklyn one does allow dogs inside, since they don't serve food.
