I just recently purchased the Big Bettys Truck Stop pinball machine. The coinbox was missing from the machine so I programmed it to free play. Worked great the first few times, but then I would have an issue where the ball would get stuck in one of the parts that shoots the ball back out. Then on the screen it will say check field fuse 01. It is also getting stuck where the ball gets kicked out to the shooter. It clicks and the ball comes out about half way but won't go completely over to drop into the shooter. If I manually do it then I can play. Otherwise it will keep clicking and then eventually say check field fuse 01. Any help would be appreciated.

The first one may be a under-playfield fuse that is blown, sounds like by what it's telling you and the fact that it's not operating at all. Check around that area on the underside, see if you can find a fuse near there or along the chain that powers that solenoid. If you can get the schematics, it should tell you where that fuse is, at least in the wiring harness, if not the physical location itself.

Second one, if the solenoid is trying to fire to kick out the ball, I would check and make sure the linkages aren't getting snagged up in some way...sounds like it's at least trying...question is why isn't it getting the full range of motion or power to kick it out.

I was wondering if maybe it wasn't getting full power thrown to the solenoid to kick the ball out? Because it was working perfect at first.

What would this machine typically sell for? I saw one on Ebay for $1900. Not sure if that was realistic or not? I did have a guy from my work throw me a sizeable offer, but for what I paid for it, I really don't want to sell it. I'd like to enjoy it for awhile.

Don't sell it over that, sounds like it might be fairly easy to resolve IM-relatively-inexperienced-O.

If you're concerned about the voltages driving it, you can check it with a meter, but for me personally, that's not the first place my brain goes to. I'm not so hot with multimeters and such, so I tend to look for mechanical failure first. ;)

To be honest, I've never heard of this pin. Playfield looks interesting though...kinda like an inverted Taxi with boobs. Wonder if that's true that the flipper mechs are half bally half williams? :p

Pretty cool theme. This machine has Bally on it but it was at the transition point when Williams bought out Bally so it does have a mixture I believe.

Where should I look for other fuses in the machine. I was only pulling that main glass buss fuse that was just inside the door on the right side in the black box with an electrical outlet on it.

That is the way 6803 machines work, if you start a game and all the balls are still activating the switches in the ball through after 10 or 15 seconds the software assumes the fuse is blown.

I would start by cleaning the coil mechanism and make sure everything is good and tight with no play.
