Bally Truck Stop opinions

I've never played that one, Chris. Is your wife/daughter going to be OK with the artwork? I have games with much more "qeustionable" artwork, but my games aren't in my dining room...

From the pics on IPDB it looks fairly simple with only a couple of shots.

The artwork is what has me sitting on the fence on this one but if the game is fun I can deal with the consequences.

Well Chris if you buy it and decide not to keep it there is a VERY good chance that I will take it off your hands if you decide to sell it. I saw that one on CL and wished I could make it happen but I'll have to wait til summer for any pinball purchases. Solid price on that one I think!

All right, I think you just convinced me.

See Kevin, I told you networking is a good thing...:)

Yes indeed. Something I've definitely learned in my years here.

I like the theme of Truck Stop, I need a modern pin again it's been too long. I miss my Fire! Judge Dredd, and my Street Fighter 2. Always money issues getting in the way. But hey at least I had a good down payment on my car.

Maybe not such a good deal :-(

Art on left side of the pin is in pretty bad shape. Truck running light section has about a 1 - 2" piece missing off the right side.

Gameplay was pretty fun and this had to be the happiest sounding pin I have ever played.

Wasn't able to pick it up last night -- wife had the van. Maybe that was a good thing?

Awesome! Let us see some pics if you don't mind. Ddi you get him to take any off the price for the discrepancies?

I got a little off, but not that much.

Pics will be coming tomorrow -- and lots of them! I just got back home from more running around (groan) and I have only had the chance to play a handful of games on it, but I'm really enjoying it.

I have a fair amount of lights to replace and the left upper flipper is broke in half so a rebuild kit from PBresource is in order.

No pics yet :-(

My wifes camera (cannon supper deluxe with too many features model) is to complicated for me to figure out quickly so I gave up. I'll wait for her to wake up.

Did some serious looking at the game last night as I was cleaning the playfield and got to do some serious playtesting.

The previous owner did a lot of homemade fixes that didn't pop out at me at his house -- doh! Still new to pins, and still learning what to look for. Loads of switches were adjusted improperly, switches that weren't working properly were just bent in half to prevent contact, 2 nails (WTF) were put through the gas hose plastic but aren't there for a reason that I can tell -- they go through the insert about a 1/8" or so and have 3 or 4 rubbers around the nail between the nail head and the plastic -- why??? Playfield plastics that were broken and filed down to be less noticeable. Misc other "fixes" that could have been cheap legit fixes if the PO did a little homework. Dirt everywhere, playfield hasn't ever been waxed, the most scratched up balls I've ever seen were in the machine (already replaced), all original rubbers in place, loads of 555 bulbs out (which I don't have on hand yet), left kicker solenoid is sticking out and weak about 50% of the time.

Ultimately, I did get a good deal on the pin and it plays good (will play better in a couple of weeks after my parts order list is completed and ordered) but in all reality is going to be a project machine and if I fix it up to where I'm REALLY happy with condition of the machine I'll probably have at least another 400$ (double what I paid) into it...so I have to decide if I want to be REALLY happy with the pin or just happy with it.
