I have owned a Bally Surfers pinball machine for about 30 years. It has been in my basement and I have thaught about selling it. It was working when I first got it, I recently pluged it in and it is not working. I would say it is in good condition. Play surface is dirty but not worn threw. Back glass is excellent, no cracking or peeling of graffics. Cabinet is good, dirty and show signs of wear. I am attaching a link for some pictures. If there is anyone that can help with a value or are interested in this machine I would be greatful for any info. I am in central New Jersey.

That is a seriously nice machine. I would love to own it but am on the west coast (grrr). Anywho, your BEST bet for value/opinions is on RGP:

Whoever gets it will score. I would suggest in the hood of $500. Maybe less if there are issues with the mechanics...maybe more if others are keen on it...

Now let me check out the rest of the pics.

Too cool. I played on at PAGG in Dixon, California this past year and it was great. Awesome theme and old school play style.

Cheers,
Mike

Edit: PS - this link lists it ranging from 380 to 780 with an average of 450. So, my price seems reasonable to start with. Heck, you could double it since you kept it in great shape for the past 30 years.

I would prefer someone that wants the machine for themself. Naturally I would like to get a resonable offer. I have done some research and found this machine was built in 1967 and approx. 1000 were made. The graffics were designed by an artist that has only done few machines that make this machine more desireable for a collector. Any other info would be appreciated.

By chance, have you watched a recent episode of PAWN STARS or AMERICAN PICKERS that featured pinball machines?

No I have not. I have just googled the machine and many interesting things have come up. I don't really believe those shows. I am a car guy and have seen many of these shows over inflate every aspect of a car that I personally knew. Only to drive up sale price for resale. That is why I would prefer someone who wants the machine not for resale. I purchase cars because I want to use them. You would be amazed at some of the values put on this machine on different sites. Actually this site told me there were no pictures of this machine available. Someone that wants this machine is going to get a deal.

Good outlook you have. Those shows have created havoc in the collecting community with folks who think an old pinball machine is suddenly worth $3k.

Here, your machine is here:

http://www.ipdb.org/search.pl?any=surfers&search=Search+Database&searchtype=quick#2466

908 made according to IPDB.org.

Again, if you want "pinball" people to be aware and make an offer, RGP is your best bet. I posted that link above.

If you want say $1500 for the machine, then try Craigslist and hope someone bites.

But seriously, RGP is a good resource as is www.pinside.com - great people on that forum too.

I was told KLOV is best for video games. Personally, I have 3 pins (Mata Hari, Gorgar, Seawitch) and one arcade unit, Crystal Castles.

Good luck.
