Well my supersonic is acting up again. the ball kickout isn't working and the right ball kicker isn't working and is makeing the drop targets reset everytime its hit. does the mpu control the solenoids? Or are they just controled by the solenoid board. This has me confused.
 
The MPU receives the switch closure which allows the current to pass and the solenoid fires.

Have you rebuild your connectors? More often than not that is the reason certain things don't work on this era of bally games.

Sounds like it could be a switch problem. I would put the game in switch test and see if all of the switches are registering correctly as a first step.

The answer is both. To give a full explanation would require a few paragraphs but in short, the transistors and logic to actually drive the solenoids are on the regulator/driver board but that logic is controlled by the MPU.
