Bally/Stern Lamp Driver Board Tester - Would You Buy One?
I recently finished building a test rig for Bally/Stern lamp driver boards. The tester is microcontroller based so you install a small board on connector J4 and then 3 other small boards containing LEDs on connectors J1-J3. The system connects to a computer by USB and I've written PC software that let's you test each IC and subsequent lamp driver circuit.
Basically the PC is driving the decoders which drive the SCRs which finally drive an LED so you can test every component on the board out of the machine.
Testing/repairing these board in the machine is a real PITA.
The question is... would anyone buy one of these things for say... $60? I've been thinking about having some PCBs made for a small batch but if there's no demand I'm not going to bother... I already have one
