My Space Invaders Pinball only gets lights and nothing else. I also get no flashes on my MPU board. which will normally give me an idea of what is going wrong. Any ideas?
Thanks

is there corrosion on the board where the nicad battery is? If so you may try to re-seat the 2 edge connectors on the right side of the mpu board. If there is too much acid damage from the battery though, you may need to send it to Tom Callahan at the Repair Connection to be evaluated for repair. I would suggest getting one of the new up to date mpu boards and installing new pins on the two right side edge connectors.

I just swapped out my old MPU board with the same model but it was modified to take a standard 9v battery and had the ground wire put on the back (as mentioned on Pinx website) and still no luck.

I do have 1 discolored connector but I am getting power and the lights have come on except the LED's in the backglass for the scores.

You will need to address the problem on your Rectifier board. Test the bridges, and verify theat the headers and connectors are not burnt to a crisp.

I have a brand new rectifier board but have not installed it yet. Would you recommend just doing that instead of debugging the original.

I have a second machine that I want to put together and sell but either way, I will end up with 1 extra board but it will be a little while before I get to that second machine.

Both the headers and connectors are problematic on those and will need to be changed out. It is also good to upgrade the bridges to 3502W's and mount them on the front side of the board.

I noticed these new replacement boards are much different. The website says that they are a direct replacement but Im skeptical as some of the major components are missing. Have you tried them?

It is a direct replacement. There are basically two different power supplies used in old Bally's. -49 & -54 You should be working with a -49.

The New board is soldered on and I will try it out tonight.
I am including a picture of the pwr supply with the new board.

Well... After replacing the Rectifier Board the same problem exists. Get lights but nothing else. No flashing lights on the MPU board to help determine the cause.

Any ideas?

The Solenoid voltage should be +43, not 4.3. You will not get anything without solenoid voltage present, because it is the last check in booting up the MPU.

Recheck your wiring to the new board and if correct, test the transformer.
