I picked up a Bally Rapid Fire and while I was at the place where I bought it, it worked fine, I get it home, reconnect all connections in the headboard (had to take it apart to fit it in my vehicle), and now it all seems to work, except 1 "minor" issue, it won't fire balls from the gun. Essentially it uses a solenoid (coil) to fire the balls. Any suggestions on what I can look for? I know the triggers are firing as i can hear the "shot" sound each time I pull the trigger. The wire for the gun goes back to A3 of J5 on the solenoid board. I have some schematics, but I'm terrible reading them. Anyone know how to test the solenoid drivers and does anyone have any idea which driver fires the gun?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

All connections disconnected and carefully reconnected, no change. So I started checking out the solenoid drivers and the one that connects to A3J3 pin 3 was extremely loose (not to mention it is the one that drives the gun)... a quick check and I noticed one of the legs was broken, fixed the leg (temp solution, I'll get a new part) and it now works!

Thanks for the quick reply Burt, by rechecking the connectors, that's how I noticed the driver was bad.

Well, since it worked before you took it apart it stands to reason that it was probably a connection problem.Glad to be of help...enjoy !!!!!
