Bally Power Play rebuild.... So I replaced the completely destroyed MPU with a new Alltek board which I have used on other machines (also replaced bad connectors). Voltages at the rectifier are correct as well as the new Alltek board and the Solenoid Driver board. Fuses are good and not blowing including the PF fuse.

So the game will power on, press start and correct chimes play, ball is ejected out for play and flippers work and that is it. Nothing on the playfield is working except for the lighting and flippers. None of the pop bumpers, kickers, rollovers etc... respond. On start up the displays show 33 but have not been able to find anything about that, I might have a bad display too but will worry about that later.

At least there is progress, until this morning the game was completely dead.

Is the playfield fuse underneath the playfield blown? also sometimes the displays do that because of cold solder joints on the displays. where the connectors are just re-solder. those displays should be OK.

It also sounds like you don't have a connector plugged into the playfield wiring. Everything is plugged in on the MPU/Driver board?

Good deal.

Now what's going on with your Close Encounters? :)

The CE game is killing me.
The roto wheel will not engage. New coil and diode (tests out fine).
New under the play field transistor replaced and tested good.
Everything is wired to schematics.
New driver board (took one from a working game), still not working.

I am waiting for new connectors as I am now going to replace them all on the driver board, I have nothing left.

Everything else on the game works great, including the other reset coils for the drop down targets.
