Ok I can't believe it I am asking for some help for the second time in one week :)

I am the proud new owner of a bally 6803 party animal, and something has me baffled. The game will start etc.. but it will not kick a ball out into the shooter lane, if the game sits there for around fifteen seconds after pressing start I get a message "Check FU-1 or Field fuse" both are good the holders are in good shape.

I then start testing the coil the coil will not fire during the solenoid test but it does fire if I ground the tip while in attract mode so I know from the MPU to the coil is good. So I end up taking the board out and start testing the 9302 tip and it reads around .7 and I have a ton of tip102's so I just swap it out along with the 1N4004 that is in line with it as that was testing shorted.

I put everything back together fire it up, every thing looks good attract mode will sit there and run but the same thing if it sits for about 15 seconds after starting a game I get the Check FU-1 message so I assume there is probably a chip bad on the board but what is confusing to me is I can actuate the coil by hand to get a ball into the shooter lane and the game plays fine, if the ball drains I manually do the coil again and play the game etc… but if I leave the balls in the trough it will give me the message. But anyway I just thought it was weird and someone might be able to shed some light as to why it does that.

Thanks
Brad

All the switches are good, fuse holder is good I didn't see and cold solder joints. I think the game is programmed to throw that error if it thinks there should be a ball in play but still reads three balls in the through that's what I thought was strange and kind of misleading. The PA I got is in real good shape the frogs legs are busted off and the little ramp is cracked by the mounting screws but everything else looks real good, but if I do end up needing something I will for sure try you first.

Thanks
Brad
