Hello all and Happy Holidays.
Does anyone have any recommendations for repairs to a playfield for the Bally Night Rider (SS) pinball. (Photo Attached) I think this is the worst area. And who has the best rubber ring kit for this pin.

You really only have a couple of options, hand touch-ups or computer touch-ups, replacement or overlay.

I've heard of overlays but have never seen one and from what I've read some aren't reproduced very well and also might not even be available for your machine.

I would doubt that you're going to be able to hand touch that area due to the detail so that leaves computer touch-ups or replacement.

I would look for a replacement play field first on Mr. Pinball (http://www.xmission.com/~daina/classified/) and if that isn't available I'd scan the imperfections and print them on an Alps and lastly a laser printer then go through a restoration and clear the play field (http://forums.arcade-museum.com/showthread.php?t=118059).

First, welcome to the forum. I'm not an expert at playfield repair but it appears that you'll be needing to raise the level of the light inserts to the playfield. It looks like they've shrunk/sunken below the level that caused the ball to make the wear marks on the back side.

There are a couple of things you can do.

- If your aren't good with color matching or painting for the matter, you might look for a good scan of the playfield and make some patches for those worn spots. There are some excellent websites that show you how to do this.
- or you can repaint those worn areas. This is much more difficult and will need very good color matching.

If you can't match the paint well, it is better to just leave it alone and address the light insert level issue to prevent more wear.

Rubbers are rubbers. Look for the best price w/ shipping. You can save a little money if you know the sizes you need and can order individually. Good Luck.

Regards,
Russell
