I have a Bally home version Fireball that I want to sell. I know they are not very well liked, so is it even worth cleaning it up to sell? It is going to take some time, and I have to replace the bottom of the head. The game works and the playfield is nice, but the cabinet isn't anything special. Is this a game that might be better to part out? I see posts here once in a while asking for these parts, but not many people want want one of these.

So what do you think? I don't have much into this, but time could be better spent if it won't bring much when I sell it.

Put it out for $100.00 and it might sell. Or part it out. :)

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I don't mind selling it for $100 as is, but I don't want to spend a bunch of time on it for that.

If someone offers you $100, take the money and run. I've seen nice ones not sell for $50. Honestly, there just isn't much interest in them unless you find someone who doesn't know much about it.

My only thought when I read this is... Isn't this supposed to be an arcade PRESERVATION group? If it works thats great, are there that many Fireball classics out there that need the parts to justify parting it?

It's a home version...no parts can be used in a commercial machine...totally different.

I'm aware of Fireball Classic's home status. It is still a pinball machine somewhat in the ball park of a coin op machine. Made by Bally as well that's gotta mean something.

It's not coin operated. Those home model machines are baby games.

Yeah, definitely not the same as a Fireball Classic, which strangely enough is what will be taking this machines spot in the garage.

This isn't considered a real pin to the collectors I have talked to. It is more a joke than anything else. Locally, I have only had one offer for it, and he offered $20.

It is probably a great pin for a kid though; a little smaller and not complex at all.

The preservation part of this site seems to be really subjective. If a machine is considered to be collectible, then it must be preserved, otherwise it is just junk. I had a few cocktail pins, and they were pretty hard to get rid of. If I remember right, most people here suggested parting them.

I have sold a lot of games really cheap to keep them from being parted, but it is not worth it in this area. They always seem to make it to the parters somehow, so I just lose money in the end. The only good sales I have had were to collectors out of the area, where people actually want games, not a source of income.

So if anyone wants one of these, let me know. I have at least a couple of weeks before I can pick up the Fireball Classic, so I don't need to do anything with it before then.

Edit: I am not looking for much. I just want to be able to afford a repro marquee and cpo for my Millipede from the sale of this.
