Hi!

Newby here seeking help with a 70s vintage Bally Hi-Deal pinball repair. My local, well regarded video game restoration shop won't look at a pre-1977 game (I think that this is a 1975) and I'm hoping to rule out a simple fix before starting a wider search for a repair tech.

The game plays fine but none of the playing field lights are illuminated. This is a fairly new problem. Is there anything that I can check that immediately comes to mind? (Wondering about relays, fuses, connections, etc).

Thanks, in advance for your help! I'm not very experienced with pinballs. This was in my parents' basement when I was a kid and I'd like to bring it into my home so that my kids can enjoy it. Lots of sentimental value here.

I also have a jukebox that selects but immediately cancels the record, so I'll be cross posting a similar request over on the juikebox forum.

Thanks again.

Check fuses. If you have a voltmeter, multimeter, etc. use that vs. just checking fuses visually. Pull at least one end of each fuse out of the fuse holder so that its out of circuit and check the resistance on your ohmmeter setting.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks, rockymtn.

Have a 1975 electromechanical (EM) pinball that had the same "no playfield lights problem" and it was a fuse...the fuse kept blowing and it was a result of the flipper switches needing replaced (the contacts had come off and the metal leaves were making too much contact and blowing fuses.

Cold also be a dirty switch on the Hold/lock relay. Or tilt relay.
