Anyone know the part number for the fluorescent lamp sockets that are behind the backglass on the 80's Bally's pins (more specifically Mr and Mrs Pacman)? Anything easier and cheaper to use? Thanks.

Not sure of the part number, but you should be able to take them out and match them up with something at a hardware store *home depot/lowes*.

The fluorescent lamp used in that pin is pretty harsh - it reflects down on the playfield and makes it hard to see. I have seen people use a rope light instead & it makes the lighting a bit softer & more even.
I have a Mr & mrs pin, but don't care much for it. I feel that the pac-maze takes away from the flow of a good game of pinball IMHO. I picked mine up for $175 non working & brought it back to life. I have more $$$ into it than it's worth, but it was worth it for the education in repair skills if nothing else.

I just installed a rope light tonight, and it looks perfect. A nice soft spread of light. I spliced it into the 120V that goes to the ballast for the fluorescent light, so it turns on with the pin. I agree with you on Mr and Mrs Pacman. I also got it cheap, $165, and brought it back to life...what a pain in the ass. Very unreliable so far. Can't wait to get rid of it, even if it is at a loss and move on to another project.
