Bally AO-24-2100 Coil

I can't find anything on this coil. For the outlane flaps on my BMX pinball. The manual calls out for AO-24-2100. I have done a lot of google research and can't find anything on this coil. The machine has an AO-29-2100 and a really burnt up A?-25-1900.

Looking for the correct replacement's.

You know that the "24" refers to the wire gauge and the "2100" is the number of turns of the wire on the spool?

You can make your own coil too or you can take a coil close to the values and it should be close enough. I also have taken larger wound coils and removed some of the turns to make it a lessor value.

Yes I spent a lot of time on that site and with the knowledge of what the coil numbers ment. I could not find anything on there about the AO-24-2100 or any coils with different prefix's and the same 24-2100 wire and winding numbers. I don't have enough experience to know how close is close enough.

The two that are in the machine are certainly all burned up. They are not the original number so I don't know if they burnt up because they were too far off to be considered close or for some other reason.

THis game was re-tooled and sent out as Hardbody about 5 years later. I looked at the manual for that coil and it listed the coil as 30-3100. Which I can find online.

I would never have guessed a 30-3100 would have been close enough to 24-2100.

Any hard and fast rules on what is close enough or which side of close to be on? Higher/lower wire size, higher/lower number of wraps.
 
Just know that depending on the application, a higher gauge coil with more windings, could burn up faster than a lower gauge one.

I wouldn't replace flipper coils for instance, with a higher gauge coil. If anything, you'd go lower with MORE wraps(Less wraps, less resistance).

So you wouldn't replace a 24-2100 with a 30-3100, you'd have one sluggish coil in comparison as thinner wire has more resistance, and the more turns the more resistance. So you'd use something like a 31-1800(just making a number up here), but you'd likely burn that coil up much faster than the original.
